Our hosted personal digital identity service,
mylid.net has been upgraded to beta 2
over the weekend. Apart from the to-be-expected bug fixes from beta 1, it also
provides substantial new features:
- An audit log by which the user can review all digital identity transactions
that they, or anybody else performed that involved their digital identity.
Through this log, the user can understand which 3rd parties retrieve, or attempt
to retrieve, any of their personal information and when. The user can also
detect any fraudent uses (or attempts of use) of their digital identity
because all uses are logged, together with the authenticated LID of the
person attempting to use their digital identity.
- Authenticated messaging, through which any owner of a LID can send
an authenticated message to any another owner of a LID.
mylid.net forwards
this message to the user's e-mail address without revealing it to anybody.
Such authenticated messaging prevents Phishing and spam attacks while putting
the fun and utility back into messaging. This is ideal for web-based contact
forms, for example.
- More features to come. Stay tuned for beta 3.
As before, the mylid.net
beta is open and free. To try it out, go to
signup.mylid.net.
