Often people (non-engineers) are puzzled about what makes engineers tick. Asking, for example, why there is open source software? Why are they doing this?
This article doesn’t have an answer either. But it sure is a great story. I certainly remember when I discovered GraphingCalculator on my then-girlfriend’s (now wife) new PowerMac: it was an amazing piece of software, and weirdly enough, not mentioned anywhere in Apple’s documentation or marketing materials. Now we know why.
