Blogs are simply great. Through a track-back link to the this blog I found
Andrew Otwell's
review of Malcolm McCullough's book "Digital Ground".
Among many other thoughts I have to chew on, he explains "situated software"
a little differently, making it not quite a synonym with "situational software"
as we use the term. In our parlance, the driver is a "situation", which may
be attached to a physical location, but often is not. Witness Gerry Purdy's
accountant
example, which is not tied to any particular physical location. McCullough
talks much more about technology being "part of" or "inside" something,
which, by definition, is tied to a particular object.
