Situational leadership was invented by Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard has been around as a management concept since the 1960's,
and is known and practiced by many people every day.
Here is a good description.
It's core idea is as simple as it is powerful: depending on the situation, the leadership
style that the leader exhibits may be different.
Situational Software is the software equivalent of situational leadership: instead of
presenting to the user the same software application, regardless of situation (and typically
blissfully unaware of the situation), software is presented that takes into account the
specifics of the situation, and seamlessly fits into it.
