Before starting this blog, I would like to explicitly acknowledge
Clay Shirky's excellent
article on what he calls "Situated Software".
To quote, "This is software designed in and for a particular social
situation or context", rather than what one could call mass-market
software. I'd like to acknowledge it because it is very astute, and because his
thinking has definitely influenced ours. (The term "Situational Software"
emerged independently, as far as I know, and describes something
slightly different.)
